Drummond Hill is quite a tricky place to hold any event on - the nature of the landscape results in either steep climbs on or before the event, or a long drive in the forest. We chose the latter this time, although our proposed one-way system was wrecked, along with several of the forest roads, by the Colin McRae-sponsored Rally the previous weekend. Night orienteering is sadly an acquired taste, although the perfect evening that we had for the event should have gone a long way to convincing any newcomers to this branch of our sport, what a pleasure it frequently can be. Of course, a fabulous forest and Dave and Gillians' courses will have helped, too. My thanks to the Interlopers Faithful for turning out to help after a long year. And my commiserations for those who got stuck in the traffic around Perth and missed their run completely. Paul Caban
